What happens when a little Black girl solves a problem?
She creates a product. Then a business. Then a blueprint for the next generation.

Gabby Goodwin was just seven when she turned a missing barrette into a million-dollar idea. She and her mom, Rozalynn, created GaBBY Bows—the first anti-slip double-face double-snap barrette—and locked in three U.S. patents.

Now she’s a teen CEO, a high school graduate, and a scholarship magnet with over $1 million in merit offers, including four full rides from some of the most respected universities in the country.

And she’s expanding her impact again—this time through publishing.

Her New Book Drops May 27

Gabby just signed a major book deal with HarperCollins, and her debut children’s book, “Naturally Me at the Confidence Salon,” is now available for pre-order and will hit shelves May 27.

The book is inspired by Gabby’s real-life Confidence Salon—a space rooted in affirmations, self-love, and empowerment. With colorful illustrations by Princess Karibo, the story uplifts young readers by showing them the beauty of natural hairstyles and the strength that comes from being yourself.

“Confidence has always been important to me,” Gabby says.
“I want girls like me to see themselves in my story and know they can follow their dreams too.”

This isn’t just a picture book—it’s a resource. It teaches pride, representation, and resilience. It’s a tool to spark conversations and help children build a foundation of belief in themselves.

A Family Business That Scales Legacy

In 2014, Gabby and her mom launched gabbybows.com, and since then, they’ve sold over one million barrettes direct-to-consumer in all 50 states and 16 countries. But sales are just the surface.

Through their Mommy and Me Entrepreneurship Academy, they’ve helped 50+ young girls in 16 states launch businesses of their own—empowering them with the skills, mindset, and support system to grow as entrepreneurs.

This is how generational change starts: with ownership, mentorship, and vision.

Gabby recently announced her college decision on Instagram, and the whole ecosystem she’s built is watching, rooting, and rising with her.

She’s not the future. She’s now.
